I have been practicing yoga for more than 40 years. I was so inspired by Brenda from ChillOut Yoga as a teacher that I decided to train to teach under her direction, initially to enrich my own knowledge and experience. I was one of the first ChillOut Yoga graduates, qualifying on Midsummer Day in 2009.
My desire has always been to support those who may, for differing reasons find yoga and exercise difficult. I believe that yoga is available to everyone, whatever their abilities. I personally find my own yoga practice calming and supportive especially when life is challenging and love to share this skill with my students.
My class was originally for people with hip and knee replacements but has grown to support those with many difficulties including MS, stroke cancer and arthritis. It is a class for all ages and abilities with a strong emphasis on relaxation techniques and improving and increasing mobility.
I am also a qualified in Therapeutic Massage and have been practicing for 9 years.
I am very interested in alignment and how we use (and misuse) our bodies through movement and the lack of it. I am currently doing a course in Biomechanics with an inspiring Biomechanist from the States, Katy Bowman.
